The Lowcountry Life

Lowcountry Residential Builders is your connection to living the Lowcountry lifestyle.  We offer affordable homes built to complement our already beautiful landscape of marsh, sea and sand.

The Charleston area truly is unique - and for those of you just moving to the area, here's a recipe you may want to become familiar with - courtesy of Lowcountry resident and author - Pat Conroy.

INGREDIENTS
1/4 cup Old Bay seasoning
4 lbs small red potatoes, unpeeled
2 lbs turkey kielbasa sausage
6 ears fresh corn, cut in thirds
4-5 whole onions, peeled
4 lbs large fresh shrimp, unpeeled
Cocktail sauce and lemon wedges

DIRECTION
Fill large shrimp pot halfway with water and Old Bay. Bring to a boil. Add potatoes, return to boil for 10 minutes. Add kielbasa, corn and onion, return to boil until potatoes are tender. Add shrimp and cook 3 minutes until shrimp is pink. Drain liquid and serve from a large platter, with cocktail sauce and lemon.
